Perfecting the Blowdry

11. Straighteners

This technique is used to flatten and smooth hair to its finest. Hair straighteners used correctly give a lovely natural healthy look. This technique can be completed during your cutting or colouring sessions.

12. Curling Tong

This is suitable for anybody wanting a natural curl. Plus, you may find some of your clients’ hair hard to blow dry with a brush, as it’s too fine or doesn’t curl. You may find the curling tongs quite helpful. It is great for medium length or long hair.

12.1 Really Curly

Cutting

13. Vertical Layer

This layering technique removed weight through the middle areas but keeps length through the perimeter. This style is great for clients who want to remove a little weight from the head while leaving length through the perimeter. This technique is a classic one length haircut which requires excellent precision for optimum results. This is suitable for clients who have fine, medium and thick hair. 15. Graduated Bob

This graduation technique builds up weight in the hair. This is suitable for clients who have predominantly fine to medium thick hair. 16. Seamless Graduation

This graduation technique can be used for mid-length to short hair. This layer removes weight from the crown to the occipital, and removes length and weight from the occipital down to the nape. 18. Pre-Lightener

This technique is used on clients who wish to lighten their hair all over. It can also be used on clients who want a complete change of colour. Pre-lightener will strip the natural pigment of the hair, leaving it blonde. Toning pre-lightened hair is quite a common technique to achieve the correct colour. 19. Balayage

This technique is used for clients wanting a bespoke fashion colour. It allows you to tailor-make a colour for the individual.
